We just got back from our mid-west morel excursion. Our trip couldn’t have been more perfectly timed this year, as we arrived during the height of their Blonde Morel season. Strangely, we usually have our mid-west hunt more toward the end of April, but as the spring has been quite early this year, the morels fruited about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Luckily for all who came with us, Mycotours did a wonderful job planning this year’s foray. We have many wonderful memories to take home with us, as well as many delicious mushrooms! Our best find this year was a single tree that had over 130 morels underneath it! Talk about a beautiful sight! Stay posted for some video footage of this year’s trip, as well as more photos!
